Denmark Refrigeration Warehouse

Exploring a derelict building and took a camera and a tripod with me inside. The site is an abandoned refrigerated storage place down by the harbor.

It's been closed for some time, but the lights have nevertheless remained on. Now it's apparently getting demolished or renovated to make room for fancy harborfront condos.

Basement
level - engineering workshop

Ground floor - engine room, pumps and tanks

Moving on - past the debris pile

Entering the warehouse

The ceiling and tops of the walls on this floor are covered with soot. A fire? Before or after the place shut down? The red light warns that there is some kind of problem with the refrigeration system in this unit.

Some kind of problem.

Code black in aisle seven.

Venturing fearlessly onwards.

The orange wall seems a bit like a radiosity test scene.

The elevator is out.

The Little Mermaid.

Whatever it is, I don't approve of it and want no part of it.

The yellow tape warns, "ASBESTOS". Nice. I only notice after I get to like the fifth floor.

Up a few more flights of rickety stairs and I'm on the roof:

Where the wild pigeons roam

Yuppie condos

Peach sunset, Carlsberg properties, the zoo tower, Kalvebod Brygge scrap dealer in the foreground.

Time to leave. The Escher staircase of infinite vertigo

Urban explorations are dirty and nasty. Don't forget to wash your hands afterwards.
