Sen. G.W. Hagedorn Gero-Psychiatric Hospital
Another wonderful find we have here. Out
driving Sunday, I spent all morning cruising around the middle of no-where when
suddenly I spot a sign I couldn't resist "Sanatorium Road". Turning down there,
I follow the signs and eventually find the hospital, to my dismay clean and
pristine and fully operational. I drive to the back, turn around and prepare to
leave when I spot a broken window, always inviting. I take a closer look and
what do I find but a giant and fully abandoned building.
Parking in the lot, I climb down the short hill to an open (ok missing) window,
climbing through I was immediately assaulted with a huge cloud of flies swarming
the room. Inside the place was big, long halls lined with rooms, lots of smaller
alcoves, a basement and even a small ladder leading to a even smaller lift type
area with the elevator machines. A really great find especially again because
I've never seen the place on any other site.
